名称は情報発信「基地」という意味を込めて命名
ＮＥＸＣＯ東日本北海道支社は１月30日、道東自動車道４車線化事業への理解促進と工事進捗状況等を発信することを目的に、道東道４車線化事業ＰＲルーム『おとふけＢＡＳＥ』をオープンした。同名称は地域住民に親しみを持ってもらうとともに、道東道４車線化事業の情報発信「基地」という意味を込めて名付けられた。

トンネル小型模型の展示
「おとふけＢＡＳＥ」では、道東道４車線化事業の概要や４車線化による整備効果、事業区間の立体地図模型、建設予定の橋梁やトンネルの小型模型を展示。
また、道東道の歴史を年表形式で紹介しているほか、記念撮影用に高速道路上の標識を模したパネルを設置している。
所在地は、道の駅「おとふけ」北側のなつぞら公園敷地内（都市間バス・空港連絡バス乗降所隣）、住所は北海道河東郡音更町なつぞら３—１。利用時間は午前９時30分～午後５時（休館日・年末年始）。入場料無料。

高速道路上の標識を模したパネルの設置
ＰＲルームを所掌する帯広工事事務所の山形尚裕所長は「道東道４車線化は十勝をはじめ全道各地からの期待も大きく、高い関心を頂いていると感じている。おとふけＢＡＳＥを通じ事業を着実に進めている状況をお伝えできればと考えている」とコメントした。
なお同社は２０２４年９月24日、同様のＰＲルーム『占冠ＢＡＳＥ』を占冠村物産館１階（北海道勇払郡占冠村）に開設している。
