昨年の西日本豪雨による崩落以来、４車線整備の必要性をその身をもって体現した高知自動車道・立川橋の復旧工事が完了。８日、２車線での対面通行が解除され、１年振りに４車線での完全復活を果たした。これにより、西日本豪雨によるＮＥＸＣＯ西日本管内の規制は全て解除された。
復旧の記者発表があった５日、高知県の尾﨑正直知事は「発災から１年という短期間での復旧にご尽力いただきました関係者の方々に深く感謝申し上げます。４車線での復旧により、県民の皆様や高知県を訪れる皆様がより一層安全で快適に通行できるようになります」とコメントを発表。
一方、復旧工事を進めていたＮＥＸＣＯ西日本の酒井和広代表取締役社長は24日、施工を担当した鹿島建設に対し、「迅速な対応と創意工夫により早期復旧に多大なご尽力を賜りました」と感謝状を授与した。
