３月に国土交通相から有料道路事業許可の出た大和北道路（奈良北ＩＣ～郡山下ツ道ＪＣＴ）と、西九州州自動車道（佐々ＩＣ～佐世保大塔ＩＣ）の効率的な事業推進に向け４月16日、ＮＥＸＣＯ西日本管内に２つの事務所が新設され、看板掛替などで門出を祝った。
大和北道路の事業にあたる奈良工事事務所（川瀬憲司所長）の開所式にはＮＥＸＣＯ西日本関西支社の村尾光弘支社長が出席し、「将来は京奈和道として機能する重要な区間。1日も早い開通を目指したい」と挨拶した。（写真上）
一方、西九州道・佐々ＩＣ～佐世保大塔ＩＣの４車線化を目指す佐世保工事事務所（池田宰所長）にはＮＥＸＣＯ西日本九州支社の廣畑浩司支社長が出席。「加速度的に組織を強化し、設計がまとまり次第地元の皆さんに丁寧に説明しながら事業を進めたい」と意気込みを語った。（写真下）
